The House of Luxdawn designs luminous textiles for interior spaces.

Weaving light is a unique skill, combining traditional weaving techniques with design and lighting.

Its founder, Lyse Drouaine, has been at the helm of this unprecedented multidisciplinary approach since 2012.

With the light conductor wire as her guiding thread and preferred means of expression, her loom is driven to transcribe a luminous score of 'dot-hyphen-dot' where the natural fibre intertwines with the precious optical fibre.

All the weaving is done by hand. Such a long handicraft production and the level of detail in the gestures guarantee the excellence of these works.

The patented Excel Ray process is then used to modulate the optical fibre over specified lengths, and LED lighting solutions are used to enhance the resulting luminous textile. Some of these are the result of years of R&D by engineer design office specialising in optics, mechanics and electronics.

This innovative technique, with its many functions and applications can be used in art, interior architecture, design and well-being inspired by light therapy.

Works of art and design objects, furniture, wall pieces and bespoke projects are all produced in her workshop in Aubusson.
